Forrest Capie to write next volume of BoE history

Forrest Capie, Professor of Economic History at the Cass Business School, has accepted an appointment to write the next volume of the Bank of England's official history.

This will cover the period of twenty years from 1958 to 1979 - roughly from the Radcliffe Report to the end of Exchange Controls. The intended publication date (consistent with the 30-year rule for release of public documents) is 2009. Professor Capie will be joining the Bank in September.
