BCBS and Iosco publish draft securitisation criteria

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (Iosco) have published a consultative document on identifying criteria for “simple, transparent and comparable” (STC) short-term securitisations.

The STC initiative is one of several by different regulators aimed at creating a regulation framework for securitisations. The European Union agreed at the end of May to adopt a “simple, transparent and standardised (STS) framework”, which is
