The US Treasury and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) have agreed to hold regular high-level discussions on macroeconomic and financial policies.

US Treasury secretary Janet Yellen and Vietnamese central bank governor Nguyen Thi Hong jointly announced the decision after meeting in Hanoi on July 20. Yellen arrived in Vietnam after visits to Beijing and India, where she attended financial meetings of the Group of 20 major economies.
