Shelter inflation set to fall significantly – SF Fed research

“Conservative” model predicts shelter inflation will be 0% in the US by summer 2024

Shelter inflation will reach 0% by May 2024 and then drop into negative figures, research from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco predicts.

“The deflationary component of this forecast would be the most severe contraction in shelter inflation since the global financial crisis of 2007–09,” authors Augustus Kmetz, Schuyler Louie and John Mondragon write.
