Covid hits women in US workforce – Bowman
Fed governor confident about greater employment opportunities for women
The US economy has witnessed a “substantial recovery” in its labour market “for both genders” since “the worst of the pandemic”, Federal Reserve System governor Michelle Bowman, said in a speech on August 17.
Nonetheless, overall, there are “4 million” pre-pandemic workers that remain outside the US workforce and levelling-up dynamics witnessed before Covid-19 appear to have stalled, Bowman told an Arkansas Women’s Commission Meeting in Russellville, Arkansas.
