Comms teams grow in step with central bank staff size

But budgets prove to be more varied

Staff numbers at central bank communications teams are closely correlated with a central bank’s overall size. But comms budgets do not necessarily rise in line with staffing.

The number of full-time employees on central banks’ communications teams ranged between two and 116, and the average was 27. Staff numbers at central banks ranged between 71 and 5,398, with an average of 1,360.
